It’s pay-it-forward time. Ric Erkes will be our demonstrator this month. He has been turning for over 10 years and has listened to ideas and watched techniques from a wide variety of turners. Well now it’s his turn to pass along a little of what he has learned with an emphasis on saving time and money. Ric will be bringing in several home-made jigs that serve a variety of purposes. He’ll spend some time on how he uses a bowl gouge specifically discussing: just where is that bevel? He’ll share his ideas on reverse turning pieces of various sizes and shapes and as time allows he’ll walk through some simple jigs for carving feet and flutes. Ric isn’t planning on ‘making’ anything but will pass along as much info as he can.
Pay It Forward with Ric Erkes, Thursday, February 18, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
